As a parish family we will celebrate the Feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga with a special Mass on Thursday, June 20th, at 7PM. Weather permitting we will begin by gathering at the outdoor shrine of St. Aloysius. We will then process into Church for Mass. After Mass, all are invited to our annual Strawberry ice cream/shortcake social in our school cafeteria. Pope Francis, at the beginning of this year marking the 450th anniversary of the birth of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, wrote: “I am convinced that the Spirit of God continues to call out to many young people, from their faith and from the suffering of the poor of the world. Many, in all countries, yearn for a transparent and honest world without corruption, where there is recognition and a place for everyone…It is time, therefore, for us to listen to them and ask ourselves, how we can help young people grow so deeply in their faith and love for Christ that they may, with a courage to that of Aloysius Gonzaga, confront the idols of the dominant culture.” Our parish feast day celebration is a wonderful opportunity to help our youth grow closer to Jesus and to give our youth the example of our lives in the service of others – to remind one another to serve as Aloysius Gonzaga served. All are invited to our Feast Day Celebration. Invite family and friends, neighbors and co-workers. In a special way, invite those who have drifted away from the Church to come to our celebration and to learn from St. Aloysius how to follow Christ boldly and credibly. St. Aloysius Gonzaga, pray for us!
