LISTENING SESSIONS WITH BISHOP MALONE: Bishop Richard Malone will resume a series of “listening sessions” around the Diocese with the sincere desire that healing and hope can begin to occur following the horrible clergy sexual abuse crisis that has caused such pain and division within our Diocese and the Universal Church. These Listening Sessions will include Bishop Malone praying with the faithful, hearing their thoughts and concerns, inviting discussion, and offering summary remarks regarding the mission of the diocese and its parishes, schools and other organizations. The August Listening Sessions are: – Saturday, August 3, 9:30 to 11:30AM, Ascension Parish, Batavia – Saturday, August 10, 9:30 to 11:30AM, Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Orchard Park – Saturday, August 17, 9:30 to 11:30AM, Holy Trinity Parish, Dunkirk Bishop Malone is most interested in planning with all members of the Church and the wider community how to formulate next steps to address the effects of the clergy abuse crisis and other matters of concern. Remember to pray the healing Prayer placed prominently in our Church near the candle racks and in front of the statue of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. Also, may the candle burning in front of the statue of St. Aloysius Gonzaga be a reminder to all of us to build a Church free of all abuse, a Church which is a safe-haven for all – young and old – who seek holiness and wholeness of life.
