Sun – Religious Ed starts

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM: Our newly appointed Parish Administer Fr. Cole Webster and Director of Religious Education Director Bob Rybarczyk met this past week to discuss and begin planning for this year’s Religious Education Program. The major topic of discussion was the possible change of having classes on Sunday mornings after the 9:00am mass; instead of the Tuesday model that has been in place for years here at St. Aloysius. The main reason for the change is that mostly all families polled prefer Sundays rather than Tuesday! Sundays are free from after school activities such as sports, fewer weekday homework concerns, less “rushed” for those parents who work and bring their children to class, etc… The main benefits are that it allows families to come to mass together, provide children opportunities to perform functions in the liturgy, connects the “Gospel Weekly” resource with the Sunday Gospel being proclaimed and truly make Sunday the “Lord’s Day.” This year’s program will begin on Sunday September 22nd immediately after the 9:00am mass in the school. Parents will shortly receive a letter detailing this year’s program and all the particulars; including the schedule for the year and sacramental preparation for the spring. Registration forms for new students to this year’s program can be found in the back of the church or at the Rectory. For those parents who still want to register their child in our Religious Education Program but find the Sunday change difficult or impossible to accommodate, there is a second option also available for families. Please contact Bob at 572-1132 for more information regarding this option. We want to ensure that the beauty of our Catholic faith continues to be passed down to ALL our children in any way we can help!
