MINISTERS OF COMMUNION: Did you ever think of serving our parish community as a Minister of Communion? As some of our Eucharistic Ministers have moved, aged or are no longer able to distribute Holy Communion at Mass or in our health care facilities, there is a genuine need to call forth more people willing to serve in this way. A training session for new Ministers of the Eucharist will be held on Saturday, September 21st, from 9:30 to 11:30AM at St. Leo the Great, Sweet Home Road, Amherst. At this training session there will be a brief presentation on the Church’s Theology of the Eucharist, followed by a detailed teaching on the role of an Extraordinary Minister of the Church during Mass and when bringing the Eucharist to others outside of Mass. If you are interested in being trained to become a Minister of Communion, please speak with Sister Maryann or Father Peter, or call the rectory. To feed others with the Body and Blood of Christ is an amazing grace. It is a wonderful way to put your faith into action and to serve others as Jesus served.
